William (BIll) Homer Wolford, 67, of Danville, died Dec. 14, 2015 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willy Homer and Evelyn Estep Wolford, and a niece, Mickey Wolford.

He was a graduate of Matewan High School and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a retired state mine Inspector and he also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved his cat, Marbles, and a dog named, Sophie.

He is survived by his son, William Kevin Wolford (Michelle); granddaughters, Cheyenne and Brooklyn; brother, Larry David Wolford (Sue); nephew, Shawn; and a special friend, Judy Price.

There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, at Handley Funeral Home, Danville.

In lieu of flowers, he requested that donations be made to the Boone County Animal Shelter.
