Due to the all the planning and preparation going into this camping trip - THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS. The camping spots have been reserved and paid in advance. We have reserved 3 camper spots and can have 1 camper and 2 tents per spot.  If you want to camp with us, you need to let us know as soon as possible. We may not be able to reserve more camping spots that weekend close to our spots.

Marina  - Summersville Lake Marina is located at the Long Point Area. The marina number is (304) 872-1331. Additional information can be found at Summersville Lake Marina & Sarge's Dive Shop. There is a $3.00 Day Use fee for boat launching and Picnicking

Carnifex Ferry Battlefield State Park - Nestled on the rim of the Gauley River Canyon near Summersville, West Virginia, Carnifex Ferry Battlefield State Park is an important Civil War battle site. On September 10, 1861 Union troops led by Brigadier General William S. Rosecrans engaged the Confederates and forced them to evacuate an entrenched position on the Henry Patterson Farm which overlooked Carnifex Ferry. The Confederate commander, Brigadier General John B. Floyd retreated across the ferry to the south side of the Gauley River and on eastward to Meadow Bluff near Lewisburg. This Civil War battle represented the failure of a Confederate drive to regain control of the Kanawha Valley. As a result, the movement for West Virginia statehood proceeded without serious threat from the Confederates.
